Course: EAST 305-001 – Current Topics: Japanese Studies 1. (3 credits)
Teaching Schedule: Monday, Wednesday: 8:35 am – 9:55 am
Course start and end dates: August 27, 2025 to December 3, 2025
Course details: Consideration of important issues in Japanese studies. The content of the course will vary from year to year.
Salary (current rate for 3-credit course teaching): $11,090
Salary (rate for 3-credit course teaching as of September 1st, 2025): $11,479
Topic: Development of modern Japanese culture and society, with an emphasis on critical approaches to the study of culture.
Position Summary:
A Course assignment includes all or part of the following teaching activities:
a) preparation of the Course and Course plan;
b) delivery of the Course;
c) evaluation of students;
d) submitting to the University a report on student attendance and student grades;
e) supervision of Teaching Assistants or any other teaching support staff;
f) upon request, review of their students’ grades;
g) meeting with students, being available to answer questions and give advice concerning Course content and requirements;
Employees shall perform their duties in compliance with the Pedagogical Regulation and as specified in the administrative directives of the Hiring Unit. An Employee shall use appropriate pedagogical methods and material.
Teaching Qualification Requirements: All But Dissertation (ABD), or equivalent, in Asian Studies.
Experience: Applicants should have substantial experience teaching as an instructor at the university level.
